Overview

Nakupuna Consulting is seeking a Business Financial Analyst (BFA) to provide contract financial and cost support of a large size, multi-year contract to the Integrated Personnel and Pay System - Army (IPPS-A) Army Military Payroll (AMP). Nakupuna Consulting is extending contingent offers for this effort in anticipation of contract award, which is expected in May of 2024. The Business Financial Analyst will be responsible for managing business and financial related aspects for the contract. The overarching goal of the BFA is to ensure project financial information provides an accurate representation of the project for both internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities

    Assisting Program and Contract Managers to develop contract budgets and maintaining Estimates To Completion/ Estimates At Completion (ETC/EAC) in Deltek's Costpoint accounting software
  • Analyze significant $/% changes in project EACs, understand the impact to future revenue recognition and develop talking points for managers that explain the variances to budget
  • Assist with subcontract accruals
  • Assist PM in preparation of F0 budget waterfall and follow-on forecast revisions (F1-F3)
  • Monitor monthly project performance against forecast
  • Assist Finance and Accounting (F&A) with quarterly intercompany profit true-up
  • Assist PM with contract/ workforce related upkeep in Costpoint
  • Assist PM with monitoring all accounts receivable for their contracts
  • Assist PM with monitoring milestone payments on their contracts and ensure timely billing
  • Assist PM with monitoring and reviewing all invoices for their contracts
  • Review contract/mods for accuracy and assist in preparation for internal sign-off as needed
  • Project billing internal and external to the Enterprise
  • PM training to include Costpoint report navigation, Project Status Reports (PSRs), labor and non-labor summary reports, EACs
  • Assist Director of Business Operations and the Managing Director in compiling business line data for quarterly reporting
  • Assist PM in preparation of financial related client questions as needed
  • Assist in preparation of the Monthly Status Report (MSR) as needed
Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Exercises substantial autonomy in the day-to-day planning and management of work requirements. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality. Works collaboratively and exercises solid judgement in decision-making.
  • Excellent technical, organizational, and planning skills. Effective communication and problem-solving skills. Must possess strong numerical and analytical skills. The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated capabilities in researching, collecting, and synthesizing large and complex datasets or databases and possess strong quantitative ability and a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) are required.

Education and Experience:

  • A./B.S. Degree in finance, accounting, math, business administration or data/analytics or an equivalent relate field from an accredited institution.
  • 2-7 years of work experience in financial or related role

Clearance Requirements: This position requires a current Secret clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Work Location: Work location will be in the D.C., Maryland, Virginia region.

Physical Requirements: In addition to the skills and qualifications mentioned above, candidates must, at a minimum, be able to meet the following physical requirements.

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to use stairs without assistance
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, lift, carry, reach, kneel, crouch, bend and climb a step stool/ladder
