If you are a Senior Software Engineer with leadership experience and a desire to work on some of the most challenging technical problems in support of our nation's military communications systems, we'd love to have you join our team!

The Nuclear Command, Communications Systems Group (QKR) within the Asymmetric Operations Sector (AOS) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with leadership experience throughout the full software development life-cycle. If selected, you will join a hardworking team of engineers in a collaborative environment. We are passionate about systems engineering, mission engineering, and cyber vulnerability analysis, to improve today's capabilities while leading efforts to develop the resilient NC3 architecture of tomorrow. As a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you will...

  • Lead a team of software engineers through the full software development life-cycleto build a new generation of simulation-based tools to help tackle challenging digital modeling and mission engineering problems for the NC3 community.
  • Lead a dedicated team of outstanding engineers that craft, develop, and configure digital engineering environments use to test and evaluate our military's communications systems.
  • Bring professional Software Engineering and Application Architecture concepts and best practices to the workplace.
  • Apply technical/professional expertise to facilitate the on-schedule delivery of high-quality work products.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related field.
  • Have at least ten years of relevant experience in software engineering.
  • Have at least five years of relevant experience with Java and/or C#.
  • Have at least three years of relevant experience with a relational database.
  • Have at least five years of relevant experience leading software engineering teams through full-cycle development.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, outstanding oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills.
  • Have an ability to obtain an Interim Top Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Possess a Master's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another related field.
  • Have at least fifteen years of experience in software engineering.
  • Have at least ten years of experience leading software engineering teams through full-cycle development including software productization, deployment, maintenance and support.
  • Have professional experience in data science and statistical analysis.
  • Have leadership experience developing in an Agile environment to include automated testing, continuous integration and deployment.
  • Have an active Top Secret Clearance.
