About the Role:

Under general supervision, the VTS Distribution Center Lead supports the DC Leadership by ensuring VTS customer orders are prioritized and sent out in a timely manner, regularly communicating performance goals and standards so that team members understand expectations, communicating employee performance opportunities, deficiencies, and ideas to the manager, interacting with carriers, handling freight and shipping issues managing VTS Inventory . Team lead will primarily work in one or more of the following areas: order control, receiving, inventory, shipping, and training.

  • Develop

    • Manage daily workflow of inbound/outbound activities on VTS Orders

    • Comprehensive knowledge of High Jump /SAP and other related systems

    • Complete end of day reports VTS Sales

    • LEAN knowledge/activities and on-going operational improvement in VTS area

    • Efficient methods to ensure all resources, including personnel, are maximized

  • Analyze

    • VTS Output of department (using Microsoft Excel and other tools)

    • Time management of inbound deliveries/shipments on VTS products

  • Document

    • Maintain Appropriate records with regards to SOP's

    • Report errors in stocking, miss picks, & miss shipments

    • Provide comprehensive transfer of information between shifts.

    • Enforce SOP's and document deviations of process or personnel as needed.

    • Orders for same day shipments

    • Time management of shipments

  • Equipment

    • Ensure all equipment is maintained according to Zeiss standards.

    • Document and report any deviations

    • Maintain clean and safe working environments (6S compliance

    • Follows safety standards and reports any safety concerns to leadership

Experience:

  • 2+ years preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to motivate through Strong Effective leadership.

  • Strong initiative and follow-up skills.

  • Time management skills.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills

  • Requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand and walk for prolonged periods, climb, reach, crouch, operate a forklift and pallet jack, and perform repetitive movements with upper and lower extremities.

  • Manual dexterity, basic math skills, and good vision are required.

  • Requires two to four years' experience in cycle counting, customer service, shipping, data entry functions, POD/tracer, receiving, order administration/control, picking, restocking, and quality control/checking.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing programs, experience with SAP software, and demonstrated ability to work effectively under deadlines and varied job pressure.

Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:

Required

  • Forklift, WMS

Preferred

  • HighJump, SAP

Monday - Friday

8:00am-4:45pm
