As a Global Sourcing Lead for Motion NEMA Motors (MONM) in Fort Smith, Arkansas, you will be responsible for ensuring that we keep the plants running with a reliable supply chain, accomplishing this by managing risks and costs by leveraging ABB's requirements in new global supply markets. You will find the best available globally competitive source of materials or services for either GDL or the US(United States) plants. You will coordinate with engineering, manufacturing and operations to add value, drive continuous improvement. You will provide a point of contact for GDL, US and integration on SCM(Supply Chain Management), logistics and insource/outsource activity which they will drive to completion and track the results and savings derived from the synergies.

Your responsibilities

  • Support outsourcing/insourcing activities across a wide variety of commodities and categories for the MONM division globally
  • Leverage the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process, by implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with the overall MONM business strategy. Ensure that the supplier base/suppliers have the capability and capacity for meeting current and future business requirements
  • Contributing and participating in setting and implementing the budget and targets and ensuring the integration targets are met while developing, negotiating and administering contracts for key suppliers where applicable.
  • Enforce terms and conditions of purchase orders and other agreements and compliance with legal requirements and company policy
  • Identify areas of risk within current supply chain, implement appropriate mitigation measures where applicable
  • Lead continuous improvement events with suppliers and in conjunction with the operations team to maximize value across the supply chain, improving total cost of ownership while driving a cultural of continuous improvement
  • Manage, plan and track of integration savings activities including piece cost, transport and logistics savings and inventory reductions
  • Maintain knowledge of market and industry trends within area of MX and communicate potential impact on business, including price trends and futures markets to identify opportunities resulting from market shifts and take advantage of such shifts
Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree with Minimum 10 years experience working in a manufacturing environment. 5 plus years experience working with Motors specifically.
  • Excellent analytical, communication and leadership skills
  • Preferred Experience Includes: APICS or ISM Certification, Lean Certification, SAP, Bilingual
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
