Commercial Construction Laborer
The Laborer performs tasks involving physical labor to assist in building structures for, business, and
construction sites. This position is responsible for cleaning and preparing construction sites for the
erection of structures and buildings, Unloading and loading of materials, reading of plans and
specifications, tending machines, mixing and pouring of concrete, and assists carpenters, operating
engineers, and other construction site workers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Enforce the Company's safety program in accordance with the company's best practice policies,
local, state, and federal laws.
- Implement and enforce the Company's quality control program to achieve quality workmanship
in accordance with project requirements.
- Clean and prepare sites including removal of trees and debris, along with removing hazardous
materials
- Set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and participate in demolitions.
- Work underground in tunnels and sewer systems to install sewer, water, and storm drainpipes..
- Service machines, including pumps, compressors, generators, tractors, and trailers.
- Operate pavement breakers; jackhammers; earth tampers; concrete, mortar, and plaster mixers,
including mixing and/or pumping concrete, grout, cement, sand, or plaster.
- Use spray guns for application of material to ceilings or walls.
* Read blueprints and designs and survey and measure equipment.
- Clear and prepare highway work zones, dig trenches, and transport and set off explosives to
tunnel into earth or roads.
- Control robotic pipe cutters and cleaners and operate laser guidance equipment to place pipes,
operate air, electric, and pneumatic drills.
- Use latest technology and software to complete projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience, and Special Skills Required
- At least five (5) years of experience as a construction laborer.
- Proven track record with client satisfaction and profitability.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, and ability to speak, read, write, and
comprehend English.
- Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.
- Trustworthy, self-motivated, passionate and dedicated to high-quality work
