Sign On Bonus 20k - Cardiac Cath LAB Technologist for full time employees only

Up to $65.00 per hour

$10.00 shift bonus

Main tasks include:

Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist

Patient Care

  • Delivers care to the patient in a competent, capable, caring, and efficient manner.
  • Assesses, observes reports, and records signs and symptoms indicative of changes in the general condition of the patient.
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize and adjust plan of care of adapt to changing priorities and plan of care as delegated.
  • Assesses, observes, and reports pertinent and significant patient responses to treatments and/or procedures.
  • Applies knowledge of growth and development over the life span. Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit. Assesses data reflective of each patient s status and interprets information needed in order to identify each patient s age requirements relative to his/her age-specific healthcare needs.

Teaching

  • Provides patient and/or family members with explanation of condition as necessary and written information when possible
  • Recognizes and utilizes opportunities for health teaching of patients and relatives
  • Documents patient teaching and patient s understanding of the same
  • Participates, as requested, in on-unit clinical orientation of supplemental and/or new staff to include principles related to patent care management

Treatment and Procedures

  • Is competent to perform multiple tasks required to complete procedures in the cardiac cath lab.
  • Operates the Physiological Monitor, Philips Radiography Equipment, Intra-vascular Ultra Page 3. Sound, Cardiac Defibrillator, Aortic Balloon Pump and other added equipment used in the day to day operation of the cath lab.
  • Recognizes cardiac dysrhythmias and informs physicians and nurses
  • Performs scrub role for diagnostic, intervention, and peripheral procedure
  • Performs a variety of clinical interventions as specified in the department s competency/skills checklist.

Other Required Duties

  • Responsible for taking call and performing the duties required by the patient and physician.
  • Responsible for quality control of all technology equipment located in the cardiac cath lab.
  • Performs a variety of service and administrative tasks.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day ordering of supplies, ordering, procedure charges (support) and capital requisition
  • Transports patients as required
  • Cleans rooms and stretchers as required
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • RT or RCIS is required for the position, it cannot be replaced by experience as it is a required license to operate fluoroscopy equipment.
  • Degree in related field (BA, BS, BSN,AA) or years of equivalent experience
  • Two or more years of Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology experience.
