We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join Element Fleet Management. As the largest pure-play fleet manager in the world, we provide unmatched products and services and solutions to our clients.

Are You:

  • A financial professional with the ability to review reports with a critical eye for accuracy and consistency.

  • Process-oriented with a proven track record of success.

As the Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for general accounting activities including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and financial statements. This role is in office weekly T,W,Th at our Owings Mills MD office.

A Day in the Life

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare general ledger entries

  • Performs statistical analysis to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to general ledger accounts

  • Resolves inconsistent or inaccurate financial information in preparation of schedules, account reconciliations and reports

  • Assists in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Other duties as assigned, including special projects

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field of study. The ideal candidate plans to pursue CPA

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of accounting or other related experience

  • Experience with general ledger functions, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and identifying, researching, and resolving problems

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook)

  • ERP systems experience; SAP preferred

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Access. Accounting software

  • Experience including the month-end/year-end close processes is strongly preferred

  • Experience with intercompany transactions preferred
