Job Description

We are seeking aSr Academic Program Coordinator who will serve as academic program support for the Center of Leadership Education (CLE) and oversees the daily administration of our complex student groups, events and activities, and programmatic necessities. This includes all of the CLE's undergraduate and minor programs including the Clark Scholars Program, Multidisciplinary Design, CLE minors, Design Day, the Fotiadi travel fund, and experiential student groups.

This position will include extensive internal and external interaction with faculty, staff, students, participants, and other collaborators of the CLE. Works collectively with the nine Whiting School of Engineering (WSE) academic divisions and other areas to drive new enrollment growth. The ideal candidate is expected to maintain a high degree of professionalism, exercising excellent administrative judgment, and maintaining responsibility for quality of service to the student experience.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Key point person and liaison with the Clark Foundation, including attending conferences and events, submitting reports, planning social and academic events, overseeing and organizing travel abroad for intersession, updating Clark Scholar course production, collaborating with Clark Scholars faculty members and Clark Scholars Faculty Director
  • Maintain Clark Scholar alumni database and connect current students with alumni.
  • Implement and launch proposed academic and student related strategic planning goals, objectives and strategies.
  • Develop the establishment of new policies or the modification of existing policies.
  • Review and approve academic and student governance and outcome reports.
  • Supervise the completion of administrative activities, projects, surveys, or studies to ensure academic activities are completed in a timely, proper and efficient manner.
  • Oversee student experiential groups: AMA, Salant, Enactus, Women in Business, SCNO, JHUCC, JHPMC, including budget approval.
  • Support the Multi-Disciplinary Design team.
  • Point person for the Fotiadi travel fund.
  • Serve as the CLE's Design Day event coordinator.
  • Assist with faculty promotion process - update and maintain a semester course tracker as well as pulling and synthesizing evaluation for all full time and part time faculty.
  • Work with distressed students: sounding board and point person for students regarding academic concerns. Working collaboratively with other university departments on resolutions of problems to enhance the success of student while with Johns Hopkins.
  • Consult with and advise the program Directors on changes to academic and student policies and procedures.
  • Active leader and participate in Clark Scholar Foundation meetings, LEED meetings, and UPAAC Subcommittee.


Special Knowledge, Skill & Abilities

  • Ability to manage high volume of work and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of teaching and program issues.
  • Knowledge of both college and pre-college education in relation to curriculum design, instruction, assessment and professional development.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, WordPress, SIS and course production.


Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Five years progressively responsible administrative/academic experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.

Starting Salary Range: $21.00 - $36.50 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)

Schedule: M-F, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
