Job Description

Description

The Cloudburst Group is a unique small business focused on empowering communities to build social, economic, and environmental resilience. For over 15 years, the Homeless Assistance Team (HAT) has been making measurable impacts on homelessness by supporting local communities to:

  • Implement evidence-based solutions
  • Make smart, data-driven investments
  • Provide critical assistance to people impacted by public health emergencies and natural disasters

This position will support the disaster response team's work in supporting communities in responding to public health and natural disasters that impact people experiencing homelessness. As extreme weather and public health events increase in frequency and intensity, many communities are unexpectedly facing disasters they have not navigated in the past. Successful candidates will foster strong partnerships and coordination with local and federal partners. Supporting communities in regular monitoring, intentional preparation, and immediate action when events occur can save the lives of people experiencing homelessness.

There's a lot of work ahead. Cloudburst is seeking to grow our team with people who are passionate about ending homelessness.

We want you on our team if you:

  • Are driven by finding solutions that improve the experience of homelessness and outcomes for all people experiencing homelessness.
  • Are adept at centering equity and reducing racial disparities in housing outcomes.
  • Enjoy collaborating and problem-solving challenging issues with diverse teams and partners.
  • Manage projects effectively and efficiently.

Expected compensation range: $72,500 to $110,00

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for applying technical, methodological, or sector knowledge to independently execute and/or lead teams on project deliverables.
  • Provide guidance/consultation, training, and written products focused on disaster preparedness and response for people experiencing homelessness.
  • Build relationships with key community leaders to encourage broad systemic support for initiatives aimed at decreasing homelessness.
  • Support communities with re-housing and recovery efforts, implementing best practices and improving system performance.
  • Stay current on HUD policy priorities and advise communities on compliance with HUD regulations.
  • Assist communities with assessing and interpreting data to inform planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Center listening, equity, housing, and the voices of those with the lived experience of homelessness.
  • Responsible for coordinating quality control processes to ensure services and deliverables meet client expectations, policies, prevailing industry standards, and Cloudburst's standards of quality.
  • Occasional domestic travel, as needed, to support disaster and recovery efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and ten years experience or significant life experience in the field of homelessness or housing.
  • Familiarity with HUD's homeless programs and regulations.
  • Prior demonstrated application of industry-specific technical, methodological, and/or regulatory knowledge. Direct experience working for a CoC or ESG jurisdiction is desired.
  • Foundation in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to effectively and efficiently perform multiple tasks and balance competing priorities while working under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and independently respond to situations.
  • Comfortable in leadership positions and possess strong facilitation skills.
