The?Air Force Research Laboratory?is the primary scientific research and development center for the Department of the Air Force. AFRL plays an integral role in leading the discovery, development, and integration of affordable warfighting technologies for our air, space, and cyberspace force.

In order to meet current and projected workload requirements in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory Integration & Operations (AFRL/RS) Directorate, the Government must augment its organic (military and civil service) capabilities with knowledge and experience of Advisory & Assistance Services (A&AS) support. We are seeking a Logistics Specialist/ Equipment Custodian to assist with this important initiative.

The Logistics Specialist/Equipment Custodian would oversee the inventory, maintenance, and storage of military equipment and supplies. This includes managing weapons, vehicles, communication devices, and other essential gear. They would ensure compliance with military regulations and safety protocols, maintain meticulous records, coordinate equipment distribution and retrieval, troubleshoot equipment issues, and provide support to military personnel.

An active secret clearance with the ability to support the client site M-F core business hours is required.

Responsibilities are but not limited to:

Coordinate with Government Experimentation Teams and the applicable AFRL Accountable Property Officer and Logistics Material Control Activity to:

  • Ensure all equipment purchased for experimentation is correctly account for in the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) to ensure compliance

  • Ensure all Government Furnished Property provided to third parties is processed through the DoD Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment and DPAS

  • Coordinate the transfer of equipment from AFRL/RS inventory to other AFRL Technical Directorates (TD's) or owning organizations when applicable.

  • Ensure compliance to the applicable areas in AFRLI 23-141 AFRL Equipment and Other Laboratory Asset Management

  • Coordinate with AF/Test Wing's government Logistics to ensure proper shipment of equipment and tracking of experimental equipment in DPAS.

  • Conduct annual inventory reconciliation to ensure compliance with Air Force equipment inventory policy.

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years' experience (or equivalent work experience)

  • Active Secret security clearance

  • Experienced in a diverse range of skills critical to military operations, including proficiently managing inventory, conducting equipment maintenance, optimizing storage and warehousing practices, ensuring safety compliance, communicating effectively, solving complex problems, maintaining meticulous attention to detail, demonstrating strong organizational capabilities, possessing technical expertise, delivering exceptional customer service, fostering teamwork, adapting to changing circumstances, and adhering to regulatory requirements.
