Position Overview

We are seeking a SAP Security Specialist to join our team to help contribute to our success and help us solve problems with innovation through intelligence.
The SAP Security Specialist shall provide general security support under this contract. This includes performing activities related to security standard discipline management and support. Unless otherwise specified, they should note all tasks may pertain to both US and International Security Support. The following subtasks are not assigned to any one specific security business area and are intended to provide maximum flexibility and support to the enterprise:
- Manage daily special access program (SAP) operations.
- Implement and execute relevant Government directives, instructions, memoranda, and other guidance documents.
- Support the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy (OASD(SP)) in organizing, scanning, and uploading signed program indoctrination agreements.
- Track the office's processing equipment to meet the requirements for SAP operations.
- Equipment includes SAP security compliant computer terminals, input devices (scanners), output devices (printers), duplication devices (copiers), destruction devices (shredders), user accounts, and physical storage devices (security containers).
- Submitting to the appropriate Government organization (e.g., OUSD(P)'s Special Access Program Central Office (SAPCO)) OASD(SP)'s requests to meet the office's SAP operations processing needs.
- Supporting the office's accurate application of SAP security classification guidance to written material, including paragraph/portion marking as well as overall classification.
- Preparing and processing visit requests to and from the organization.
- Controlling transfer, storage, management, and destruction of SAP information.
- Coordinating the physical transfer of classified materials between geographically separated facilities and training staff on appropriate procedures for couriering classified documents.
- Investigate security incidents, conducting risk analyses, and preparing written reports that identify contributing factors and specify preventive action.
- Providing security support for meetings and conferences, including clearing attendee lists prior to meetings, and checking attendees at the meeting or conference.
- Access various databases, including but not limited to, Defense Information System for Security, and Joint Access Database Environment.
- Interacting with the OUSD(P) SAPCO office on a regular basis to assist with fulfilling the OASD(SP)'s administrative requests, including but not limited to, scheduling initial SAP read-ins for new personnel, and facilitating ASD-approved and DASD-approved additional read-ins for existing personnel, as needed.
- Interact and maintain positive working relationship with internal and external clients, agencies and organizations concerning matters related to the office's SAP needs and assisting with other duties as needed (e.g., escort, briefing preparation, entry control).
- Assigning document accountability control numbers, tracking the transfer of positively controlled documents, and recording destruction of accountable documents [using two-person integrity].
- Submit a monthly report to the on-site team lead, summarizing all accomplishments and highlighting any mission constraints that need to be addressed with the Government task monitor.
