Job Summary:
The Aerospace Business Unit is responsible for Aerospace applications with a global responsibility for Sales, Manufacturing, Business development, Product and Process Development. The Business Unit operates in a large number of countries and markets, all over the world and with a customer portfolio that includes all major players in the Aerospace industry. Our business is fully customer focused, with products specifically designed for an engine / airframe application and then produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Extreme product range fragmentation, complex product design, very high-quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of our Business Unit. In Hanover, PA we produce Rings and Seals for the Aerospace and Industrial markets. The CNC Machine Operator will analyze design specifications, cut/shape metal, assemble parts and test completed products for use and will work in the Shaft Seal Mori Line Department. Due to the nature of the work, US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of equipment and perform operations necessary to produce acceptable aerospace and industrial products within the following operations: Sealing Rings CNC Line, milling, turning, boring and abrasive machining procedures.
  • Duties include working from prints, sketches, process sheets, travelers, and verbal instructions.
  • Use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, air gage, dial, indicator, depth feeler gage to measure width, wall face width, step height, depth angle, to tolerances generally within .001", occasionally as close as .0001".
  • Setup and adjustments line.
  • Transport materials; perform dipping, coating, and wrapping of products as needed.
  • Perform operator capable lubrication of service to machines and equipment.
  • Set up and operate Lapping Room equipment as needed.
  • Maintain records and paperwork.
  • Ensure that work area is kept clean, safe and orderly.
  • Notify supervision of any problems or difficulties.
  • Refers to supervisor for clarification of priorities, objectives, or policies.

EQUIPMENT USED - Including and not limited to:

  • Abrasive Machinery: O.D. & I.D. grinders, large O.D. & I.D. grinders, burring & Jt burring, lap, Hyprolap, creep feed grinders.
  • Conventional Machinery: Lathes, Cam, Grooving & Chamfering.

Requirements:

  • Due to the nature of the work, US citizenship is required.
  • All hourly employees will be part of the United Steelworkers Union (USW).
  • HSD or GED required.
  • Requires use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, etc. & a variety of precision measuring instruments and devices.
  • Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Able to effectively work in an environment requiring independent judgment, and self-motivation with customer focus.
  • Ability to stand for 8-hours per day, 5-days per week.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
