SUMMARY:

This position is a full time Exempt (salary) position, supporting the Army National Guard Domestic Operations (DOMOPS) Analytical Services. The CBRN Training/Exercise SME will support the National Guard Bureau (NGB) Combatting Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Division providing professional and expert analysis to facilitate the overall objectives of the NGB-J39.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Monitor and coordinate National Guard (NG) Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) Response Enterprise (CRE) efforts by maintaining lines of communication with USNORTHCOM, ARNORTH, Army Interagency Training and Education Center (AITEC), Joint Forces Headquarters (JFHQ) States, NG CRE elements, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCOE)
  • Review and track the current status of the NG CRE Support ARNG/ANG /Joint Staff on NG CRE needs, identify gaps and efforts, and include information in the weekly status updates
  • Perform gap analyses of proposed changes of existing instructions, manuals, doctrine, standard operating procedures etc. annually or upon changes to current doctrine and provide recommended updates for changes
  • Monitor and review status in the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) regarding CBRN response
  • Provide background information papers to support engagements with Adjutants General from the various states and territories
  • Provide recommendations on changes to approved guidance for national, regional, and state level strategic, operational, and tactical level planning efforts
  • Facilitate lines of communication, coordination, and collaboration with internal and external customers to enhance operability and effective CBRN response measures
  • Monitor and track Division tasks and request for information received through email, meetings, discussions, and tasker systems to include the NG Joint Staff Action Management System (JASMS)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Seven (7) to nine (9) years of experience in CWMD or CBRN response
  • Strong understanding of CBRN incident response fundamentals & principles
  • Ability to communicate understanding from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, and / or technically advanced
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction
  • Ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence
  • Ability to lead teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree (preferred) in an area related to the labor category from an accredited college or university

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to have and be able to maintain a TS/SCI clearance and meet other eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
