Position Summary:

The International Trade Specialist provides support to attorneys in the International Trade Group within the Regulatory Practice Area. This position will perform both billable and non-billable tasks. The International Trade Specialist works under general supervision and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and draft analyses of International Trade issues, including trade remedies, sanctions compliance, export controls, trade agreements, and CFIUS/foreign direct investment, for attorneys in the practice group
  • Track developments in International Trade law, policy, and media coverage and report findings
  • Monitor and analyze trade data from numerous statistical sources
  • Draft documents, letters, and summaries for attorney review
  • Assist with ongoing trade remedies proceedings and file documents with government agencies and courts
  • Conduct sanctions screenings under attorney supervision
  • Track media, press releases, announcements, and other documents regarding international trade
  • Organize, index, and maintain electronic case matter files

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate with a background and interest in international trade
  • At least two (2) years of work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including intermediate proficiency in Excel
  • Strong writing, organizational, and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with US policy processes or international trade policy
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
