Valiant is seeking an individual to provide electrical engineering support as a RF Measurement Support Engineer for a USG customer in the Northern Virginia area. The support activities below are representative of the tasks the individual shall perform:

  • Assist the training coordinators in the development of new relevant training courses, to include identifying and/or interfacing with appropriate Vendors if applicable, and preparing course documentation to include, but not limited to, lesson plans, course description, course syllabus, course agenda and course instructional material per the Sponsor's requirements.
  • Assist the training coordinators in the scheduling, procurement of supplies, and physical setup of new or existing electrical engineering, RF, and antenna intrinsic training courses where required.
  • Provide on-site assistance for training courses by acting as a secondary instructor in support of the training experience.
  • Provide on-site assistance for training courses by supporting the training experience in technical courses that cover material/technologies.
  • Assist the EM Lead and be a main focal point in the operation and maintenance of the tapered far field and near field chambers worldwide.
  • Provide on-site expertise to minimize measurement errors, instruct on an ad-hoc basis the proper use of the chambers, and repair and maintain the chambers, when necessary.
  • Perform chamber performance characterization, analysis, measurement process improvements, and recommend advancements in antenna metrology.
  • Interface with outside Vendors for technical support or purchasing as directed by the EM Lead.
  • Assist the EM lead and be the main focal point in supporting other Sponsor or IC partners by facilitating RF measurements to include, but not limited to, antenna gain measurements, Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) measurements, impedance measurements, and sensitivity measurements. Develop custom measurement processes for units under tests.
  • Provide analysis of measurement results, to include comparison against modeling and simulation as requested.
  • Manage the chamber reservation calendar and keep the EM Lead and Requirements Staff informed of any scheduling or priorities conflicts.
  • Assist the EM Lead in the organization of lab spaces and tracking equipment in antenna chambers worldwide.
  • Replenish stock when necessary and provide suggestions for new materials where appropriate.
  • Fabricate or repair RF cable/connector assemblies when determined necessary by the EM Lead.
  • Assist the EM Lead in the development of chamber measurement automation.
  • Assist the EM Lead in the management of SEEFsoft (internal Visual Basic program) by maintaining version control, adding new measurement tests or capabilities, and adding new RF equipment.
  • Provide an end-of-month report of all activities and developments.
  • Perform domestic and foreign travel to both training locations and testing locations worldwide.
  • Assist the EM Lead in the fabrication and repair of antenna mounts.
  • Assist the EM Lead in the development and maintenance of RF circuit measurement tools to include, but not limited to, load pull measurements and noise figure measurements.
  • Assist in the development of quick-start guides, where applicable.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks associated with Sponsor/Mission Partners equipment/supplies/products in order to report and maintain operational readiness status.

  • A TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.
  • CONUS and OCONUS TDY travel may be required.
