Coordinator III, Employee Relations

Description

Plans, manages, and coordinates the multifaceted program activities and personnel related to the Division's employee relations team in compliance with discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct laws and regulations; supports equitable employee treatment through the oversight of investigations involving race, sex, age, color, religion, national origin, disability, and marital status; oversees the Division's day-to-day operations associated with employee investigations, grievances, and lawsuits; develops and implements a comprehensive program that monitors compliance with laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and practices; leads professional development initiatives divisionwide for management and staff, that include trauma-informed philosophy and support a culture of respect that is free from all forms of harassment and retaliation; exercises leadership to assess, design, implement, and continually improve the division's response to misconduct violations; coordinates and produces compliance reports.

Qualifications

Required

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in civil rights investigations, human resources, law, criminal justice, compliance, business management, or related field.
  • Six (6) years of progressively more responsible experience working in human resources, law, criminal justice, compliance, or similar field, two (2) years of which shall include leadership experience in leading civil rights investigations and/or conducting trauma-sensitive investigations.
  • Experience in the development and facilitation of professional development programs and informational materials.
  • Knowledge of current state and federal laws and regulations related to labor law compliance to include Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADA, and other applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of best practices and methodologies for conducting investigations, fact-finding, and investigative interviewing.
  • Knowledge of data-driven practices at a systems level.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology, data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Skill in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and the management of highly confidential information.
  • Skill in designing, developing, and implementing successful professional development programs, plans, and services related to compliance.
  • Ability to build and lead complex programs, projects, and change management initiatives.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in the assessment, investigation, and resolution of reported violations.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate financial and budget data.
  • Ability to establish and maintain successful collaborative working relationships to address complicated or long-term needs with both external and internal clients.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with culturally diverse employees, families, management, staff, outside government agencies and the community.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
  • Juris Doctorate or advanced degree.
  • Completion of civil rights misconduct, sexual abuse, and/or violence prevention and response program with a nationally recognized organization.
  • Experience working in an educational environment (PreK-12 or higher ed).
  • Bar membership.
  • Certification in conflict resolution and/or mediation.

Salary Range

$107,544 - $163,603
