Overview

Provides project/program management support to programs and/or projects ensuring that implementation and defined activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives. Manages projects/programs of varying complexity and size. Participates on teams through some or all phases of projects including Project Initiation, Project Planning, Project Execution, Project Monitoring and Control, Project Closure. Ensures that the project plan, scope, work breakdown structure, schedule, risk, budget, and deliverables are in alignment with the project/program goals and objectives as defined by the statement of work. Facilitates the efforts of team members to achieve their project and/or task goals and initiatives.

Responsibilities
    Oversight and ultimate responsibility for program deliverables to government customer.
  • Leads customer status review meetings, delivering meaningful metrics and operations reports that enable to the customer to make better informed decision about the direction and status of the program.
  • Establishes performance goals and expectations for team members and mediates problems and issues that stall progress.
  • Establishes deliverable timelines and holds team accountable for delivery by monitoring progress and results.
  • Closely monitors and manages project finances ensuring the program remains within budget and profitable.
  • Creates a team atmosphere, delegating responsibilities and providing career advancement opportunities to ensure team members remain engaged and deliver the best results to the customer.
Required Experience/Qualifications
  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree and ten plus years of program management experience in a government contracting environment or fourteen plus years of experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience managing a team of 20+
  • PMP certifications - highly preferred
  • Demonstrated results meeting and exceeding customer expectations within the defined budget and maintaining profitability.
  • Demonstrated leadership managing diverse and geographically dispersed teams. Candidates should articulate how they have kept teams engaged, provided for career growth and opportunities, and kept employee turnover to a minimum.
  • Strong communication skills - the ability to translate technical topics to non-technical audiences, ensuring employee and customer audiences are kept current with necessary information, and the ability to mediate contentious situations and issues. Expert level Word, PowerPoint, and Excel experience will be important.
