Job Description
Paul Hastings is seeking an Associate Employment Counsel, reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Employment Counsel and working closely with the Chief Employment Counsel. This position assists in protecting the Firm's legal interests and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law. Specifically, the Associate Employment Counsel provides pragmatic advice and strategic support on a range of employment law issues including those relating to hiring, performance management, compensation, accommodations, diversity programs, and other employment-related matters.

The Associate Employment Counsel also:
*Drafts employment-related guidelines and policies.
*Builds and implements efficient processes to maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations, in partnership with the Talent Management team.
*Provides expertise and counsel to drive completion of employment-related projects, including internal process reviews, new policy roll-outs and implementation, and training programs.
*With support from the Deputy Chief Employment Counsel, handles employment-related disputes, investigations, and litigation.
*Tracks important developments in employment law in jurisdictions where the Firm has offices, flagging trends in their infancy.

Candidates must have at least 7 years of related experience, and expertise in employment counseling and litigation or litigation management. Prior in-house experience is strongly preferred. Candidates must have a track record of delivering practical solutions to novel legal problems, must be able to manage and deliver against competing priorities, and must have the ability to participate in some travel, upon request.

This position may reside in either our Washington, DC or New York office, and candidates must be admitted to practice law and in good standing in the jurisdiction where they are hired. Please submit a cover letter and resume.

The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $250,000 and a maximum of $350,000 (annually). The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
