Position Summary

We are seeking candidates who can help us integrate current simulation and mission command systems with future technology into agile demonstratable solutions for our Army Modeling and Simulation Office (AMSO) customer. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about new concepts and technology, innovative with emerging technology, and passionate about delivering customer solutions more quickly and at lower cost.

The selected candidate will fill an immediate opening supporting our government customer on-site at Fort Belvoir, VA. Occasional telework will occur only after coordination with the government customer and senior corporate site lead.

This is an exciting opportunity for a successful applicant to be part of Army Modeling and Simulation Office (AMSO) conceptual implementation of the Army migration to a modular open systems approach to simulation through the M&S Enterprise Innovation Environment (MSEIE). This role requires creativity, innovation, and application of engineering approaches to integrate and test software and hardware systems. In support of Trideum customers and initiatives, you will work with junior and senior experienced engineers, software developers, and stakeholders to support technology evaluations, engineering test beds, and demonstration events.

What You'll Do

  • Integrate, test, and demonstrate software and hardware systems to include simulations, simulation services, interfaces, head-mounted displays, computers, radios, and networks with live, virtual, constructive simulation in support of user-defined events.
  • Ensure software integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of the software suite before deployment to other sites.
  • Assist other labs with software installation, implementation, network troubleshooting, Linux and Windows troubleshooting, and general systems usage/best practices.
  • Create, document, and analyze test plans, procedures, and reports, and assist with planning, implementing, and reporting on Systems Integration and Test activities.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal/external analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to understand, define, and solve technical issues (capabilities, performance, and interfaces).
  • Review program requirements which may include system/element level specifications and interface documents, with a focus on systems interoperability.
  • Work independently and autonomously
  • Integrate hardware and software in a lab environment
  • Communicate tactfully and effectively with persons on all levels while maintaining professional and productive relationships.
  • Travel. Occasional local travel in the National Capital Region, possible CONUS customer sites, <25%.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or applicable engineering or science field
  • 5 years of experience of relevant technical experience
  • In lieu of a degree, 8-10 years of relevant technical experience would be considered.
  • Experience with HW/SW integration distributed environment (M&S, mission command, etc) to include the development of software test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills, including the ability to readily decompose complex problems into smaller, manageable tasks.
  • Organizational and communication skills with attention to detail necessary to write and follow procedures, document configuration requirements and changes, and verify system, software, and hardware settings.
  • US citizenship
  • Active Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in scripting and software development
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) best practices
  • Security+ certification
