Harmonia is currently looking for a smart and self-motivatedSenior Network Engineerwho understands a wide range of technologies and can provide technology modernization leadership at a major agency.

The candidate will apply specialized knowledge of the installation, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of computer networks to ensure that the network operates as desired/designed. They ensure that all servers, including virtual, are properly configured and that life cycle databases are updated. The Network Engineer configures networked-based storage devices and establishes and monitors systems backups.The Network Engineer provides tier 3 support as necessary to the Desktop Support Staff. The network Engineer supports the LAN Admin team.

The Senior Network Engineer will play a pivotal role, ensuring the seamless operation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, servers, and network infrastructure supporting domestic and overseas systems. This role requires in-depth knowledge of computer networks, storage area networks (SAN), and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). You will troubleshoot complex technical issues, provide tier 3 support, and stay current on the latest advancements in network technologies.

The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports our nation's fundamental defense services. Employees work closely with the government to develop solutions that allow them to carry out submarine missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to deliver end-to-end solutions in mission systems.

TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Due to the nature of work is performed at client facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, manage, and optimize complex virtual server networks utilizing SAN storage for efficient data access and security.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical problems with servers, network systems, and VDI deployments.
  • Implement and maintain VDI solutions, ensuring smooth user experience and desktop performance.
  • Upgrade software and hardware on servers, network infrastructure, and SAN storage systems.
  • Integrate and automate cycles and Windows activities through Control-M.
  • Assist in the management of local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN).
  • Implement robust security configurations and patches for virtual environments, networks, and SAN storage.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and test software/hardware problems related to servers, networks, SAN, and VDI, reporting findings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum five years of experience supporting Microsoft server and desktop operating systems, including MS Exchange server and MS Office suite.
  • Proven experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting virtual server environments (VMware vSphere preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of SAN storage technologies, protocols, and management tools.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining VDI solutions.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory administration, network shares, and permissions management.
  • Experience with Windows PowerShell scripting for network automation.
  • Working knowledge of Control-M batch scheduling software or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with network design and analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Certifications

  • Comp TIA A+, Network + certification
  • Technical certification in network operations, Server +,
  • Security +
  • Certification with Network Appliance or VMware certification is a plus.
