Job Description

The Wealth Management Service and Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the securities operations department. This department plays a crucial role in processing, settling, and reconciling securities transactions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing operational support to various stakeholders within the bank. The Wealth Management Service and Operations Manager is tasked with optimizing operational efficiency, minimizing risks, and maintaining a high level of accuracy in all securities-related processes.



Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Manage the settlement process for securities trades to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Coordinate with custodians, brokers, and other external parties to resolve settlement issues.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Keep abreast of changes in securities regulations and implement necessary adjustments to operations.
  • Identify potential operational risks related to securities transactions and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain contingency plans to address potential disruptions in securities operations.
  • Monitor and report on key risk indicators to senior management.
    Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with front-office teams, such as traders and relationship managers, to facilitate smooth securities transactions.
  • Provide support to clients regarding securities-related inquiries and operational matters.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to address any issues or challenges that may arise in securities operations.

Required Skills:
  • Proven experience in securities operations within a bank or financial institution.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of securities products, trading, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, including SEC, FINRA, and other regulatory bodies governing securities operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using securities operations systems and platforms.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining a high level of accuracy in all processes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of related work experience.
  • Series 99 required.
Physical Demands:
  • May be required to lift up to 10 pounds of office materials and files.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and a computer printer.
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading or visual inspection of work.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with peers within own department or other departments. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
