Our Company is seeking a Document Control Specialist to be located in the McLean, VA office.


What You'll Do:

  • Manage all project documentation (includes engineering/technical transmittals, correspondence, project management - commercial invoices, legal) generated by Company and by subcontractors.
  • Implement company Document Control processes, Procedures, and specifications to ensure accurate records of all project official documentation generated by the company or its subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with the quality control department to ensure company generated documents comply with the company and the client document management system.
  • Distribute documentation to the project team in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain detailed logs of project invoices and documentation and ensure specific deadlines are met. Inform relevant parties of upcoming deadlines to avoid delays. Provide updated logs (including deadlines) to the team on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain accurate file structure for all project documentation.
  • Expedite and track status of all documents reviewed internally by the Head of the Department.
  • Develop a collaborative environment for electronic document management & maintain system security access for internal / external project team members to ensure information is secure.
  • Assist Lead Document Controller in training additional Project Document Controllers and project team members to have a clear understanding of Company or Project specific policies, procedures and software related to access and review documents.
  • Assist Department Management in the evaluation of Document Control processes and procedures for project specific modifications.
  • Provide technical support and assistance for the electronic document management system.


What We're Looking For:

  • Education: A high school diploma is required. Some college preferred in construction related curriculum.
  • Experience: Construction experience is preferred, but not required. One to two years
    in a project engineering environment would be helpful.
  • Skills: Oral communication, writing skills, judgment, negotiation, initiative, blueprint, shop drawings, time management, relationship building, details, accuracy, read and interpret construction documents, knowledge of construction methods and materials, and computer literate.
  • Software Skills: Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) Advanced Skill.
