GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

To develop, design, and/or create, fixtures, and tooling in order to meet quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Design drill tools, weld fixtures, router boards, and other fixtures and assemblies as needed.
• Creates detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Works with Mechanical Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Shop Engineers including interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Develops quotes for new tooling requirements.

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
• Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary.
• Ability to adhere to workplace rules.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• AS/AA in design drafting technology or similar degree, preferred.
• 2 to 4 years related experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient using CAD software. (AutoDesk Inventor / Siemens NX experience preferred.)
• Proficient using PDM software. (AutoDesk Vault / Siemens Teamcenter experience preferred.)
• Basic understanding of GD&T.
• Understanding of NC programming codes and method.
• Knowledge of AS400 programs preferred.

WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Office environment.
• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
