The Department of Physics at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position with expertise in lattice QCD. The successful applicant will contribute to an NSF-funded project helping the CosMoN/BaSc collaboration with its current projects and especially helping adapt parts of its current software stack to GPU acceleration, so a candidate with expertise in GPU coding is preferred. The initial appointment will be for one year starting on September 1, 2024, but could be extended for a second year.
Information about the CMU Physics Department can be found at http://www.cmu.edu/physics.
Inquiries about this position should be emailed to Prof. Colin Morningstar at cmorning@andrew.cmu.edu.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in theoretical nuclear or particle physics, or a related field, at the time the appointment begins.
Applications, including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, publication list, and a statement (maximum of 2 pages) that describes your past experience, especially with GPU coding, and future interests should be submitted via this Interfolio site link. In addition, candidates should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be uploaded to the Interfolio website.
Review of applications will begin on December 18, 2023.
