Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Serves as single point of contact for, and coordinate with, client, architect, general contractor, subcontractors, building manager, movers, installers, and project management company as required. Coordinates and provides all deliverables and manages the critical path and all other tasks related to completion of a variety of projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Serves as single point of contact for all communication with management team, stakeholders and coworkers as required.
  2. Develops work plan, schedule, and logistics based on overall project parameters, deliverables, scope, and customer’s goals.
  3. Provides timely, formal written communications throughout project to client and project team as required.
  4. Provides continuous “high level” presentations of project/program status.
  5. Reviews installation drawings with project designer and lead installer.
  6. Reviews project site and product specifications for errors or omissions.
  7. Supervises site installation.
  8. Leads/mentors project management/coordination efforts in a team environment.
  9. Maintains furniture project folders (hardcopy and electronic) and paths.
  10. Responds quickly to any related project issue that impacts timeline, scope and budget.
  11. Tracks projects and communicates projects issues, delays and risks to all stakeholders.
  12. Publishes and tracks task hours for AbilityOne programs. 
  13. Develops project timeline and monitors percentage of completion.
  14. Assists in reviewing, approving vendor invoices once project is complete.
  15. Manages subcontractors and onsite project managers to highest level of performance.
  16. Obtains final written approval/signoff from the customer within in 48 hours of installation.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design, engineering, planning, construction management, or related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated project management experience in commercial furniture, construction, project management or related industry.
  • Must be able to travel to various job sites to observe installation progress, identify any issues or possible issues and provide solutions.
  • Demonstrated analytical, negotiating and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to read blueprints.
  • Able to work in a team environment and unsupervised.
  • Able to prioritize and complete multiple ongoing tasks.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires periodic travel to facilitate a multitude of project details.
  • Requires 5% to 50% travel.

  • Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • Low to moderate noise level in an office work environment.
  • Moderate to high levels of noise in a construction environment.
