Job Description
RK&K is hiring talented Construction Inspectors to join our heavy civil, transportation construction team. This is a great opportunity to work with a team of CEI professionals and build on your skills as a leader in the field.

Basic Responsibilities/Functions
  • Provide construction management support, including inspection and monitoring of roadway and bridge structures to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Fully engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions
  • Supervise and monitor the activities of other inspectors
  • Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
  • Record-keeping and reporting as required
  • Required technical and functional skills

Required Education and Experience

  • (2) two to (20) twenty years of relevant experience in materials, standards, and specifications related to state highway projects and facilities
  • Must be able to operate basic Microsoft Office Applications, Laptop and iPad
  • Inspection experience including roadway, asphalt, concrete, pavement markings, structure and bridge construction methods
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Capable of working independently on small construction projects
  • Valid driver's license and favorable driving record

Preferred Education and Certification

  • MDOT and other local public agency experience desired
  • MDOT Material Certifications are a plus (Asphalt, Concrete, Pavement Marking, Soils, Intermediate Traffic Control Certified, etc.)
