Job Description
Summary:
The IT Systems Administrator II is responsible for all aspects of systems administration, including servers, applications, and databases. This includes implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring and the development of specialized system procedures within the Company.
 
Performs system maintenance activities on file servers as well as assisting Engineering and 3rd party manufacturing to implement new solutions.  The IT portfolio includes Windows servers, both physical and virtual, Windows workstations, Active Directory, Exchange and System Center.  Security components include the firewalls, HSM, SAM, Tokens and OTP. Supports all network and security infrastructure components.
 
The incumbent will also provide troubleshooting and end user support following SafeNet AT IT guidelines.  This role has responsibilities in secure areas and must follow all relevant rules and guidelines.  Inform users about security measures, explain potential threats, install software, implement security measures and monitor networks.
 
Qualification Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship REQUIRED
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS level Security Clearance. 
 
Education:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience can be substituted for degree (ie. 3-5 years’ experience)
 
Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of industry experience working in a customer support role, providing technical application support, in-depth trouble-shooting and diagnostics.  
  • Minimum 1 year experience with system administration tasks
  • 3+ Year experience = Technical Support Specialist
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
System Administrator 
  • Perform basic Active Directory administration functions, including creating customer profiles and accounts
  • Monitor and manages system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency
  • Maintain system documentation and audit logs
  • Perform or assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing production problems; corrects identified problems
  • Perform systems administration functions for the Company’s e-mail system
  • Administer secure links with public key encryption, anti-virus, user authentication and intrusion detection
  • Manage and support secure Virtual Private Networks (VPNs)
  • Document LAN network related policies and procedures including security
  •  Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
  •  Upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure applications and Asset Management applications.
  •  Maintain operational, configuration or other procedures.
  •  Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
  •  Ensure security of the network
  •  Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  •  Configure VMware CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
  •  Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment. Manages and supports the Systems, Server and Virtual infrastructure
  •  Manage and coordinate off-site storage 
  •  Follows SafeNet AT procedures and policies in the management of IT infrastructure
  •  Recommends systems solutions in support data backup requirements
  •  Participates oversight for all system maintenance activities
  •  Supports server patching and system maintenance activities
  •  Provides feedback and reports to IT management on Backup activities.
  •  Network security understanding is required
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
Licensures, Certifications:
  • Current Microsoft Certifications are desired
  • Cisco CCNA certification is desired.
  • SEC+ is desired
