You Can Predict What 2009 Will Look Like
Share
The clock has turned and 2008 is over (whew!) and a new year has begun. Let's make it a great one. Start by printing out this article. Ok, now write down the answers to the following questions:

If you had the chance, to relive this past year, what would you do differently? What would you do the same?

If you knew in advance how your 2008 was going to turn out, would you have made any different choices? If so, what would they have been?

Did anything that you experienced this year surprise you?

While some of us had both big and small changes thrust upon us this year, I'm guessing that most of what your year was like was not that surprising.

You see, you can often predict your future since much of it is based on the choices you make (or do not make).

If you were unhappy in your job but all you did was dream about finding a better one, then you're probably still in that same job.

If you were dissatisfied with a relationship you were in but just hoped it would change, you're probably still dissatisfied.

If you were frustrated by your lack of self-care but spent all of your time complaining about how you felt, then you probably are not taking very good care of yourself today.

You get the idea.

So rather than setting goals for 2009 or making a list of New Year's Resolutions, answer the following question:

If you knew already that 2009 was going to be the best year yet for you BUT that it depended on what you actually did in 2009, what choices would you start making, what actions would you start taking? How far would you stretch yourself?

Your actions are the true predictors of your future. Isn't it time you took control and created the life you've always wanted to have?
