Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting and Financial Reporting
• Ensure timely quarterly completion of consolidated financial statements, capital call reconciliation and cash flow.
• Collaborate with company leadership, Development and Operations Controllers to develop internal financial reporting to department heads. Oversee accurate completion of that reporting.
• Provide insights into financial performance and budget variances.
• Compute, allocate and track intercompany revenues, expenses and 3rd party transactions.
• Ensure completion of management level company books and budgets.
• Perform monthly A/P close.
• Assess and recommend improvements to accounting processes and systems.
2. Tax Compliance
• Assist AVP and others with tax workpapers and tracking/recording state and federal income tax payments. Ensure the Accounting team meets deadlines for completion of workpapers.
• Interface with the tax team to ensure proper accounting record keeping, generally on an income tax basis.
• Understand and reconcile book vs. tax accounting issues with Tax and Accounting teams.
3. Cash Management and Internal Controls
• Assist AVP with cash management and online banking administration.
• Ensure proper internal controls.
4. Other
• Work with other team members to ensure proper accounting for ownership changes, financings, acquisitions, dispositions, recording 1031 exchanges and other complex transactions.
• Provide Excellent Customer Service to all Internal and External Clients.
• Assist in training, evaluation and retaining a team of professionals.

Must Haves:

• B.S. in Accounting with CPA and/or MBA, with understanding of both tax and GAAP accounting.
• Real Estate accounting experience with very strong technical background in partnership, job cost and operational accounting.
• Strong management skills with ability to lead a professional department in a fast-paced, team oriented, collaborative environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Must be a self-starter, flexible and proactively drive results.
• Strong multi-tasking, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software; MRI experience preferred.
