Job Description

This position plays a meaningful role in understanding the end-to-end procurement financial processes, while owning the proper accounting execution for procurement-related transactions. As part of our continuous improvement initiatives, this individual will find opportunities for efficiency, and drive new accounting processes and procedures as it relates to the Procurement Accounting team. This individual is critical in ensuring the appropriate design and operating effectiveness of our internal controls and policy/procedural environments governing operational and transactional accounting.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the point of contact regarding the accurate recognition of rebates, contractual commitments, commodity true-ups, and procurement-related transactions

  • Complete month-end close processes including journal entries, management reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations

  • Partner with and influence cross-functional teams including Finance, Procurement, and Contract Accounting

  • Assist in forecasting routines, balance sheet analytics, and ad hoc analysis to support the Procurement organization

  • Drive improvements & efficiencies through automation and developing procedures for addressing potential issues

  • Support all financial audits including compliance, internal, external, and SOX

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting required; CPA or CMA preferred

  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting or public accounting

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, SAP knowledge a plus

  • Solid understanding of US GAAP

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with drive to work collaboratively and cross-functionally

  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills required

  • Ability to produce high quality work in ambiguous environments, analytically interpret financial information, and improve business processes

  • Critical thinking skills as well as a desire to work with data and utilize an analytical skillset
