Overview

G.O. Services, a fully-owned subsidiary of Gilbane, is seeking a Field Manager / Lead Field Superintendent. Field Manager oversees on-site workforce, equipment, and site services within a defined geographic region, including staff coordination and workload monitoring across multiple projects. We are looking to fill this role in both Boston, MA and Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

Field Manager typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following:

    Manage staffing needs and coordination of labor as needs change within assigned geography, ensuring that manpower and resources are adequate
  • Responsible for ensuring that all safety precautions, quality standards, and reporting are met
  • Building and maintaining client market and union relationships
  • Compliance with local state, federal, and union requirements (when applicable)
  • Responsible for the hiring/on-boarding and termination/off-boarding of staff in assigned geography
  • Supervise and train workers
  • Manage and coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
  • Produce schedules, monitor attendance of crew, and sign off on time worked
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities
  • Resolve problems when they arise, including the administration of disciplinary action
  • Report on progress to project leadership
  • Assist with site service proposals, including staffing and equipment
  • Provide projections and estimates to project teams
  • Oversight of warehouse operations
  • Participate in financial and strategic planning meetings
  • Ensure full understanding of G.O. financials within the division
Qualifications
  • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

    • 5+ years of construction management, engineering, or related field
    • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • In-depth understanding of construction principles and procedures
    • Construction-document and drawing literate, with knowledge of all phases of construction
    • Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling and cost control
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
    • Ability to communicate and report effectively
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Computer proficiency, including MS Office
    • Expected to obtain or have OSHA 30-hour certification
