JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX 5 TV, Washington, DC's #1 news station with the most hours of local news, is looking for a per diem Stagehand to assist with behind-the-scenes projects for the news broadcast studios. The Stagehand will be responsible for handling property and scenery used for live television. This includes the maintenance, repair, placement and operation of studio scenes, structures, and lighting. Must be competent in the use of hand tools and power tools. Will work in a fast-paced environment. May have to travel between locations and may be required to deliver and pickup materials offsite as needed. HS Diploma (or equivalent) required. 2-4 year college/technical degree preferred. Minimum 3 years recent experience. Must have, or be willing to obtain, a valid driver's license, be able to drive, maintain a clean MVR and insurance. Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. This position will require the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to go up and down stairs, climb ladders, bend/stoop, squat/crouch, kneel and twist. WTTG/WDCA is a 24/7 operation. Varied shifts, OT, weekends & holidays will be required.
