SPACE PLANNER/INTERIOR DESIGNER
MC is looking for self-motivated, detail oriented, organized individual that has good communications skills (verbal and written) and inter-personnel skills to fill the role of space planner/interior designer.
Job Description:
Meet with clients to understand their space needs and goals.
Sketch out space plans to meet the needs and goals of clients.
Ability to communicate plans to clients successfully.
Ability to collaborate with College Engineer to develop mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) plans to support space reconfiguration.
Ability to collaborate with College's Office of Information Technology to develop AV, data, security plans to support space reconfiguration.
Develop sketches into construction documents for in-house or external contractor to build in compliance with College Standards.
Select furniture in compliance with College Standards and develop furniture plans.
Uses College's business software, Workday, to procure and receive goods and services.
Organize and execute intra-campus and inter-campus moves of furniture, equipment, and personnel.
Organize and maintain College's inventory of surplus furniture.
Obtain Price Quotes and Cost Estimates for services and products.
Direct and supervise Furniture and Equipment Deliveries from vendors.
Schedule and supervise moves and movers.
Required Knowledge & Technical Skills:
High proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
High proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel…etc)
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop…etc)
Bluebeam Revu PDF editor
Knowledgeable about building codes
Knowledgeable about building and furniture materials
Knowledgeable about accessibility requirements (ADA 2010, Maryland Accessibility Code)
Required Education, Experience and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or interior design.
LEED Green Associate (GA) or Accredited Professional (AP) a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience of in space planning/interior design.
