At RK&K, we are hiring an experienced Leader in Structures Engineering to join our team in Maryland. As a senior member of our Structures team at RK&K you will focus on leading a variety of dynamic structural pursuits and projects as it relates to transportation. You should have state (Maryland/MDOT) and municipal experience, be highly proactive, able to develop creative technical solutions, have a strong understanding of structural operations and hands-on experience with bridge design and field operations.

Essential Functions

• Provide Senior level structural expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contract documents for construction followed by construction administration with respect to the structural aspects of the project
• Serve as Project/Program and Contractual Manager on a variety of structure related projects
• Produce construction documents, specifications, and construction cost estimates is a plus
• Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans
• Serve as liaison between client and firm
• Assist with Business Development, Marketing and Team to secure future clients and workload
• QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design work
• Provide engineering judgment and initiative within the Structural Engineering field

Required Education, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering required
• Ten (10) or more years of bridge design experience required
• Excellent communication skills including proposal development
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Maryland required
• Ties to MDOT, local municipalities and counties
