Position Summary

With moderate supervision provides professional, prompt, and courteous service to internal and external members. Order, cancel, and re-issue debit and credit cards. Process changes to cardholder accounts, such as address and name changes, limit increases, and travel notifications. Answer member questions, review, process, and resolve card disputes and fraudulent transactions. Performs daily GL reconciliation for fraud and dispute cases. Maintains current in-depth knowledge of debit/credit processes Visa guidelines, Regulation Z, Regulation E, and other Federal Regulations that govern cards operations.

Efficiently performs routine transactional duties in accordance with credit union policies and procedures. Maintains accurate transactional records and balances each day. Must have general knowledge of Card Services processes. Remain watchful for fraudulent activities. Adhering to policies and procedures to make sound decisions daily involving the creditworthiness of members such as waiving a fee and/or card issuing.

Education

  • High School Diploma - Required

Experience

  • Two (2) years working for Financial Institutions - Required
  • One (1) or more years Plastics experience - Required
  • One (1) or more years Credit Union systems - Required

Qualifications/Additional Functions

Mastery of the core system process for debit and credit cards. Proficiency with computer applications such as Excel and Word.

Ensures work is done correctly and meets deadlines. Takes action in order to solve problems so work can be completed in a timely manner. Stays open to and learns from feedback. Uses data and facts in order to make day-to-day decisions and involves others as needed. Uses policies and procedures to make good decisions.

The card function includes new application processing, card maintenance, disputes, and member servicing.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the successful candidate is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, keyboards or controls; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop or kneel. Must regularly lift and/or move files and equipment up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pound objects. Specific vision characteristics required by this position include close vision, adjust focus, and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
