Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

As a Platform Engineer for the AN/BYG-1 and Tactical Control Systems programs, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for enabling a seamless developer experience. You will continuously focus on removing hurdles to enable rapid capability development experience by software and infrastructure developers, utilizing the best in breed practices and technologies.

Key Performance Objectives:

  • Contribute to the automation of infrastructure and tools to streamline operations, deployment, and monitoring processes.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of containerized environments.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and ensure seamless integration of new features.

Strong knowledge and experience we want you to bring to our team:

  • Must have strong knowledge and moderate experience with Bash and Linux.
  • Must have strong knowledge and some experience with DevOps CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc.).
  • Must have solid technical communication skills and organizational skills.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Red Hat Linux or CentOS Administration background with a working knowledge of systems.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps tools such as Quay, Nexus, Grafana, ArgoCD and Jenkins/Bamboo.
  • You have a passion for pain-free developer experience and understand the pain points developers experience in developing and shipping new features into production.
  • You stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies, and proactively find opportunities to operational them.
  • Ability to work in a flexible environment that embraces rapid change, emphasizes continuous learning, and attack new challenges.
  • Clear understanding of the software engineering concepts, principles, theories, software development process, and agile methodology.
  • Clear understanding of the software development process, with agile experience.
  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity.
  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success.

Workplace Options:

  • This position is mostly on-site. Hybrid work is likely available, but some responsibilities require physical on-site access. While on-site, you will be a part of the Fair Lakes facility.

Target salary range: USD $90,737.80/Yr. - USD $100,662.20/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
