Job Description

About the Role:We are looking for a Manufacturing Cost Analyst to join our team.

This position will be located at ourfacility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, plant, and financial leadership to provide reporting, analysis, and guidance on COGS and inventory
  • Analyze manufacturing cost variances and partner with supply chain associates to determine root causes and remediation plans
  • Prepare and present monthly plant operating metrics and variance commentary
  • Lead plant's month end close process and post close account reconciliations
  • Participate in the year-end and interim financial audit
  • Generate standard costs for new products and support the annual global re-roll of standard costs
  • Prepare and coordinate the plant's forecasting process including establishing efficiency gain initiatives and cost-down commitments
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and support the analysis and tracking/reporting of cost-down initiatives
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain various plant allocations and accounting reserves
  • Support the deployment of SAP and other new digital tools that will enhance manufacturing processes

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an Accounting or Finance role
  • Strong working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Strong analytical, general ledger, and reconciliation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to be flexible around changing processes and priorities in a multi-task environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to details
  • Ability to work successfully in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to travel up to 5%

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with JD Edwards, SAP and/or PowerBI
  • Prior Cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Curiosity in identifying unmet needs and proactively partnering with others to develop solutions
