Summary

This position will support the work of senior government relations representatives in the Washington Operations Office and serve as their professional staff liaison. Position serves as representative of CAE to stakeholders at the highest levels of the U.S. Government, specifically including leaders within the Executive Office of the President; at the Departments of Health and Human Services, Transportation, Homeland Security, Defense, Education, and Labor; and within Congress. Position serves as a legislative and budget analyst, conducting qualitative & quantitative research & analysis of federal legislation, regulations, rulemaking, and policy. Position will assist with the creation of written and visual materials for stakeholder meetings and panels. Position will provide daily administrative functions and provide routine oversight of interns.

  • Serve as a representative of CAE to stakeholders at the highest level of the U.S. government on issues facing CAE with a focus on training, modeling, and simulation across a variety of technology platforms
  • Support the work of CAE's Vice President of Washington Operations and Senior Director of Government Relations
  • Provide engagement support and relationship management through Salesforce Analytics platform; Engagement tracking includes analysis including quarterly reporting on metrics and gaps in engagements
  • Map strategic relationships in embassies, Congress, federal agencies and produce political and international risk assessments
  • Attend Congressional and industry meetings as needed to support CAE's business imperatives
  • Provide day-to-day support on the Political Action Committee including analyzing metrics, event planning, merchandise ordering, requesting disbursements, managing a consult team tasked with employee PAC communications and engagements
  • Provide supervisory guidance for internship program including recruiting and hiring process, day-to-day support and oversight of interns.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Produce Read Ahead Memos, briefing materials, and bios in support of meetings and engagements
  • Review Read Aheads/Bios/Read outs produced by interns before submission to team
  • Facilitate all WashOps events and logistics including internal and external events, membership expenses, subscriptions, parking, catering, office and kitchen supplies

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Previous Congressional or federal agency experience
  • Previous communications, events, operations, or administrative experience
  • Interest/experience in defense, commercial aviation, national security, aerospace, or security studies
  • Interest in the intersection between public policy, government relations, foreign affairs and business development
  • Strong written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate efficiently and effectively
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be eligible for a U.S. security clearance
  • 2-5 years work experience, including internships
  • Congressional or federal agency experience preferred

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Work must be performed onsite.
  • Some remote work will be authorized
  • Occasional travel
