Overview

The candidate shall support the Electrical Engineering Branch at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This branch supports the U.S. Army by interpreting user defined or conceptual design requirements to create a prototype and adapt/integrate it into existing military automotive platforms. The branch needs expertise in the use of Electrical Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) applications to assist in the design and development of military prototypes.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
    Create schematics using 2D design ECAD software. Convert and render schematics into 3D designs using ECAD software.
  • Suggest and implement improvements in design methods and procedures using ECAD software to document electrical design.
  • Ability to communicate and work in an integrated team of Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, CAD designers, electrical integrators and technicians throughout the design, build, test and fielding process.
  • Assist in cataloging designs and maintaining the ECAD library.
Minimum Requirements
  • Expertise in the use of ECAD applications (Preferably PTC Creo Schematics and PTC Creo Parametric with Piping and Cabling Extension (PCX)) for 2D schematic and 3D parametric design. Understanding of other applications such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Altium, etc. are helpful as well.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Associate Degree (desired but not required).
  • PTC Creo Harness Manufacturing Extension (HMS) and Windchill PLM for electrical design and documentation.
  • Automotive industry experience is a plus.
  • Military experience is a plus.
