KEEN Greater DC Career Opportunities

KEEN Greater DC is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, which provides free, one-to-one recreational opportunities for children, teenagers and young adults with developmental and physical disabilities. The children and young adults who participate in the program range in age from 5 to 25, and have disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and various development delays. Since its inception, KEEN has accepted many young people who, because of their need for individualized attention, have experienced difficulty accessing existing programs. For many of them, KEEN is the only organized activity in which they can participate given their special needs.

KEEN’s mission is to provide a range of one-to-one recreational activities for children and young adults with disabilities in a non-competitive environment, which encourages the fulfillment of individual goals. KEEN seeks to develop each athlete's self-esteem and confidence, as well as recreational skills and talents.
