Location

This position is 100% remote within the Bank's footprint. Employee will work full time remote outside of a WesBanco location (may occasionally attend in person meetings, although primary functions of the role are performed remotely).

Four-year college degree required

State Certified General Appraiser License required

MAI (Member Appraisal Institute) designation preferred.

Minimum of three years of experience appraising commercial properties.

Experience reviewing appraisals for financial institutions preferred.


Job Description

SUMMARY:

As the Commercial Appraisal Review Officer, you will facilitate the request and review of commercial real estate valuations to determine market value for related financial transactions in accordance with internal bank policies/procedures, industry standards and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) & the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery & Enforcement Act (FIRREA) required.

Possess clear, concise, effective written and oral communication skills to effectively express thoughts, ideas and concepts to management, bank employees and bank customers in a collaborative and solutions oriented manner.

Ability to interact effectively and confidently across all levels of the organization, including senior management, other departments and with vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Uses risk-based decisions while working with stakeholders to ensure appraisal reports are complete, accurate, credible, relevant and reasonable based on sound real estate appraisal methodology.

Mediates and resolves issues between internal stakeholders and valuation vendors to maintain independence and impartiality.

Performs the administrative tasks that drive the commercial real estate appraisal process in the bank's Commercial Loan Operation system.

Keeps up to date about national, industry specific and local commercial real estate market trends.

Maintains a basic understanding of various building construction types, as well as flood, zoning and environmental hazards.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.

Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving.

Must be self-motivated and manage time efficiently to meet service level deadlines.

Some travel to other bank regions and to corporate headquarters for training, meetings, and/or other events may be required, but infrequent.

Computer/technology proficiency in MS Word & Excel

Familiarity with appraisal management platforms preferred
